A Family Business

Ride Traders is part of the Mannings’ group of companies who can trace their history in the fairground business back well over 170 years. Having been around since the 18th century, our experience in the industry is great but we have been able to combine it with an innovative and contemporary approach.

For the past 10 years the company have specialised in providing funfair equipment for use by film companies. We also operate public fairs and corporate events, as well as importing and exporting top quality rides and attractions to and from all around the world.

It was in the 1970s that Joseph E Manning first identified the potential for development of the outdoor leisure industry in Britain and he travelled widely in the USA and Europe to find and bring back first class equipment. He was the first UK agent for many overseas manufacturers. His company continues today through his son Joseph who is Managing Director of Ride Traders and can therefore bring this expertise to assist you.

We have worked and continue to work not only in Britain but on projects around the world, advising theme parks in continental Europe, USA, the Middle East and Australia.

Our established success has allowed Ride Traders to also become worldwide importers and exporters of fairground rides and equipment. We trade equipment ranging from a single hoopla stall to a full sized white knuckle amusement park.

Over the past 15 years we have been delighted to work with large and small film production companies and to assist them in utilising fairground equipment as back drops and scenes for their work.

We have been involved in major TV programmes, advertisements, still shots, documentaries and dramas plus comedy series and sketches. We learnt at a very early stage that the needs of film companies must be understood and respected with timetables and shooting schedules and that our staff have to be trained to meet these needs in a flexible way. Our success in implementing this approach is the reason for our popularity.
